Jaipur Tourism

When the name Jaipur comes, it seems pink. Reason- when the Prince of Wales came to visit Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, in 1867, the people of Rajasthan showed their hospitality by painting whole the city in pink (pink being the color in Rajput culture to express hospitality), hence Jaipur’s surname: ‘the pink city’.

The remnants of the old city parts give a colorful impression regarding the architectural splendor of the city. Sites like people dressed up in their traditional costumes and selling bangles and other handicrafts at one of the many street markets is definitely one of the rich glimpses of rural India. Older area of the city is enclosed within a long wall and seven gates.

The jewellery markets of Jaipur are good places to spend for your time and money. The Iswari Minar Swarga Sul minaret and the city palace have both sites of historical significance. You can visit the Jantar Mantar (observatory) and the central museum to have a relief from the city’s hustle and bustle.

The most important attraction of Jaipur is Hawa Mahal, or ‘Palace of the Winds’. This red sand-stone palace amidst all Jaipur’s recent cacophony is must visit. The story behind this artistic masterpiece goes back to the wishes of royal ladies of Singh’s harem where not allowed to go outside, but that they were allowed to look outside without being figured out by the common people. In this Mahal, there are 953 of those little windows serving as a gateway to a little glimpse of city life. Another historical place worth visiting at Jaipur is the famous Amer Palace.

Visit Jaipur and explore the elegance of antique India in a splendid way.
