Mathura (also known as Brij Bhoomi) is the birth place of Lord Krishna. For Hindus it is a major pilgrimage place and this area is closely linked with many episodes in Krishna’s early life. Situated at the right bank of the River Yamuna, Mathura today has become an important place of pilgrimage, flocked by thousands of pilgrims daily.
Day 01 : Delhi
You will be assisted to the hotel and will have half day city tour of Delhi in the afternoon. Places visited are Hanuman Mandir, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Gauri Shankar Mandir, Chattarpur Mandir and India Gate.
Day 02: Delhi / Mathura ( 147 kms/03.00 hrs )
Drive to Mathura, a sacred city for being the birth place of Lord Krishna. Check in at hotel and go out for an afternoon visit to Vrindavan. The Govind Dev Temple is worth visiting that was built in 1590. Then proceed to Vrindavan’s longest temple, the Rangaji Temple which as constructed in 1851 with 50 feet tall Dhwaja Stambha. This Stambha is believed to be gold plated. Other things to be visited are Madan Mohan Temple situated near Kali Ghat, the Bankey Bihari Temple and Glass Temple. Spend the night at hotel in Mathura.
Day 03: Mathura /Gokul / Mahavan / Goverdhan / Mathura
Drive to the place where Nand Gopal was sheltered in Yashoda Maiyas home in secrecy to escape the wrath of tyrant Kansha. It is the Gokul. Also visit Gokul Nath Ji Temple and Mahavan which is believed to have cradled Lord Krishna. Next you will be going to Goverdhan. A this place Lord Krishna held aloft Giriraj. It is a sandstone hill which Lord Krishna hold on his finger for seven days and nights to protect the people of Braj from the wrath of rain and thunder sent by Indra. After that go back to Mathura for spending the night.
Day 04: Mathura / Nand Goan / Barsana / Mathura
Go for visit of the Nand Gaon. It is the house of Lord Krishnas foster father Nand. A little beyond it is the Pan Sarovar and then you will go to Barsana, the birth place of Radha. You will be visiting the water tank Prem Sarovar too where Radha and Krishna met for the first time.
Day 05 : Mathura / Agra
Drive to Agra ( 57 kms/01.50 hrs ). Visit Taj Mahal , Agra Fort. Night stay at Agra.
Day 06: Agra / Delhi
Depart for Delhi and visit Fatehpur Sikri on the way. After arriving in Delhi you can catch your flight for your home.
